I was shooting a 300 Winchester Magnum rifle prone and couldn’t understand why my phone was so dusty- that’s when I noticed the shock waves in the sand. The muzzle brake was eight inches above the ground. Ripples radiated out approximately five feet. I had fired 43 rounds. I’ve had brakes kick up dust before, but never noticed a pattern like this.
The rifle was equipped with a 24″ barrel and Badger FTE muzzle brake. This is why some shooters don’t want to be anywhere near muzzle brakes!
