Since this barrel was fluted, I need to wrap a piece of flattened copper wire around the flutes to dial it in. This is the muzzle end, notice the copper wire inside the lathe spindle. If this wire wasn’t there, the spider’s screws might end up inside a flute and adjustments would be difficult.
