I’ve been using the Spuhr Ideal Scope Mount System (ISMS) on my rifle for the past two years. Equipped with a Picatinny rail interface, the ISMS is machined from a single billet of 7075 Aluminum and uses stainless steel screws.
The ISMS offers a series of unique features. A built-in scope leveling system ensures the scope is properly installed. A level at the rear of the ISMS allows the shooter to ensure his rifle isn’t canted. Multiple mounting surfaces provide a wide variety of options to mount red dot sights, night vision, lasers, illuminators, lights and cosine indicators. Horizontally cut rings allow unobstructed view of the scope turrets.
ISMS mounts are available in 0 and 20 MOA cants for 30mm, 34mm, 35mm and 36mm scopes.
I liked the Spuhr ISMS when I first started using it. Two years later, it’s become my clear favorite. I no longer have to worry about a canted scope installation and find the integrated level easy to use in the field. The low profile of the scope rings allows a clear view of the scope’s adjustment knobs. Plus, I haven’t noticed any ring marks on any scope mounted in the ISMS.
The Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) LSS chassis system offers Remington 700, Model Seven, Savage, Tikka T3 and Mossberg MVP shooters the ability to upgrade their rifle to a chassis system that uses a detachable magazine and AR15/M-16 M4 style stock and pistol grip. I've had great luck with the MDT…
Short barreled 308 precision rifles are nothing new. Even prior to the introduction of the DARPA XM3, 18.5" 308s were in use with some forward thinking shooters. GAP has marketed its popular 18.5" 308, the Gladius, for some time. Quite a few custom and factory guns come with shorter barrels.…
